about

I wrote this tune at the Philadelphia Folk Festival many, many years ago. I was playing a square dance there and my friend Bob Taylor was playing bass. At one point between dances, his daughters, Lindsay and Laura, walked in. They are beautiful women and dear friends, and the sight of them inspired this tune, which unfurled itself onto my fiddle's fingerboard in minutes. The band (which also included Paul Sidlick) then played it for the very next dance. Brittany Haas fiddles it on this album. If you lean in, you can probably hear me beaming ecstatically as I play guitar.
